Learn to Ride a Horse properly at: Winter Hawk Farm
Horseback riding helps develope balance, grace, body awareness, responsibility and is FUN! I really love riding at Winter Hawk Farm. The horses there are talented and challenging. Winter Hawk Farm Equestrian Training Center is proud to offer a variety of disciplines and riding techniques. These include horsemanship, biomechanics, ground manners, grooming and above all - Riding Safety. They also provide dressage or western pleasure for those interested as well as provide show coaching and support. They have many classes and are willing to work with you privately and with your schedule. Winter Hawk Farm is open to all those young at heart, regardless of your age. You just have to have a willingness to learn. . .and it's really fun. The horses are very loving.
The most important item you are required to have is a certified SEI riding helmet for your safety. It is not necessary to purchase expensive riding shoes but flat rubber soles are unsafe so they recommend a shoe with a good heal. For shows = riding shoes and proper riding apparel will be needed.
Winter Hawk Farm Instructor, Julie Hudson says that it may take a minimum of 8 weeks for any student to adapt to the instructor's style as well as for Julie the instructor to learn the best way to interact with you and each student. Please allow that time for them to get "in sync" with you. So if you want to learn to ride, call Julie or Kathy and let me know, cause I'm there at least once a week, and I would love to see you there. Come on down and meet the horses.
